Classroom update

Curriculum:

Math - Students completed a culminating task for data management recently. They will be marked and placed in the student portfolios. We are now part way through the geometry unit. Students should be practising how to read, measure and construct angles between 0-180 degrees. There will be a quiz on measuring with a protractor on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Language - Friendly letter tasks are being graded and will be handed back by Monday. We are now finished Bridge to Terabithia and the final task (a book jacket/cover) is due today. Your child should show you their chapter tasks to get signed by the end of this week. I am still missing a few. The next writing task will be a fictional mystery story with a Christmas theme. Stay tuned!

Religion - We are learning about advent and the meaning and symbolism behind each candle on the wreath.

Other reminders:

- the last day to bring in food for the Christmas hamper is Friday, Dec 2nd.
- Friday Dec 2nd is pyjama day with a donation of $2.
- December book orders are due on Dec. 14th in order to receive the orders well before Christmas. If you'd like to make a private order without your child knowing, please drop off the envelope at the office to be put in my mailbox and we can arrange pick-up.
- refer to the calendar at the bottom of the page for other important dates.

Friendly Letter Writing Task

Please click on the link to access the writing task that we are currently working on. Students also received some in-class handouts to assist with the process.

Friendly Letter

Progress Report

I apologize for making an error when photocopying the progress reports. I didn't take into consideration that the backside needed to be returned when I double-sided the sheets. So instead of cutting the original report in half, please do one of two things: sign and return the report and I will photocopy the comment section and send the original back to you OR scan the comment section, print at home and return just the signed portion so you can keep the original. Thank you.

Tulip planting!

Since the weather was so nice this afternoon, we thought we'd take advantage by going out and planting some tulips in front of the school. We can't wait to see what they look like when they bloom in the spring!!
