EQAO - grade 6
The grade 6s will begin writing the EQAO test on Thursday, May 29th. Students should be reviewing notes and completing practice tests at home. We will be doing some extensive review in class for the next few days, which will cover all strands of math and language. It is important that students are not absent for these review sessions. Lastly, a math practice booklet was given out last week. Students should be completing questions in it every day to better prepare themseelves for the test. Please sign the top of the booklet to let me know that you've seen it.
Yearbook Sales
Just a reminder. Tomorrow (Monday) is the last day to purchase yearbooks. The cost is $15. Cheques can be made out to the Parent Council.

Bake Sale!
The grade 5/6 class will be putting on a bake sale on Friday, May 16th (tomorrow!). We've been talking about this all week so most know what they are bringing in. We are hoping that each student brings in a minimum of 12 baked or bought treats. The money earned will be going towards the end of year field trip.

Math and Language
EQAO begins in exactly 3 weeks! We have been completing lots of practice tests in class.
In Language, we are starting a poetry/lyric unit.
In Math, I passed back measurement quizzes last week (area and perimeter). I am giving a retest tomorrow (Friday) at lunch. Right now we are working on 2-D geometry (translations, reflections, rotations) and moving onto fractions soon. Students should be bringing home math worksheets regularily and studying for tests/quizzes.
