Calculators

We use calculators almost daily in our math block. Our current shared class set has unfortunately been dwindling, which leaves some students without one.

It is highly recommended that each student acquire their own personal calculator (with basic functions) to ensure reliable access during lessons and quizzes.

Patterning Unit Test next week

Grade 5s and 6s will be having a patterning unit test next Tuesday, Oct 21st.

Grade 5 concepts: identifying, describing and creating repeating, growing and shrinking patterns, pattern rules that include one operation, using pattern rules to extend patterns, patterns in T-tables, graphing patterns

Grade 6 concepts: identifying, describing and creating repeating, growing and shrinking patterns, pattern rules that include one or two operations, pattern rules that include a variable (n), using pattern rules to extend patterns and solve for unknown values, patterns in T-tables, graphing patterns, creating an appropriate scale for the graph, describing what's going on in the graphs
