Geometry Summative Task

MATH: Grades 5 and 6 students will be completing a series of small tasks to end off this portion of geometry. They will be allowed to use their notes and textbook for extra help if needed. All work will be done in class on Friday.

They should review their grade specific slide show for review purposes.

This week in math and language:

Math - Grade 5s and 6s are nearing the end of the Geometry unit. Learning goals this week include classifying and constructing figures as well as identifying and drawing nets of solids.

Language - Grade 5s are listening to a read aloud (Tuck Everlasting) and completing corresponding activities as well as starting a media literacy unit;

Grade 6s are presenting their recounts orally as well as starting a media literacy unit.

Sumdog

We are now using a new math site called Sumdog. Each student has been given a username and password. The school code is st-emilys-school. It will work similar to Dreambox, with students being able to access from home and school. This site is great for math practice! What's going on this week...

Math: Please make sure Data Management tests are signed.
We will be having a Geometry quiz this week on ANGLES, Wednesday for 5s and Thursday for 6s.

Language: We will be peer editing the persuasive writing tasks, which are due on Thursday. I will accept them Friday as well with no penalty :)
