Conversion

In measurement, we are now learning to convert between units. This is a helpful diagram for students to refer to.

Math tests

Multiplication/divison tests are being handed back today. Please review with your son/daughter this weekend. A lot of the feedback (especially for the Thinking/Communication section) are questions that could have been answered to achieve a level 4.

Update

Here is a brief update of what the students are working on at the moment.

AM: Students are working on their Energy Transfer Device (due Tuesday, March 29th) and have just begun a research task about Exploring Different Cultures.

PM: Multiplication/Division tests are being written this week. We are also beginning the Measurement unit. Lesson 1 is focused on telling time on analogue clocks and determining elapsed time. You can test your son/daughter this weekend for fun by asking them time related questions. (Sample:You are travelling from Toronto to Montreal by train. If the train departs Toronto at 11:30 a.m. and arrives in Montreal at 4:56 p.m., how long will you be on the train?)

Persuasive paragraphs have been marked and handed back. We have now begun the Narrative unit and are analyzing short fiction pieces.

Photocopied material of Theme 3 in Religion is being sent home today for those that were away the week before the March break.
