Monday Memo - Week of Oct 26-30th

Language: Last week, the students were given their marks for the autobiographies. They were provided with feedback that included their strengths and next steps.

This week, students will continue their Scary Story - Narrative Writing. Most students are on the drafting phase of the writing process. We will continue to work on the rough drafts this week and get into peer and self editing as well. All work is in their Language folders in Google Drive.

Religion: Samaritans on the Digital Road (final task)

Grammar: We will work on adjectives this week and continue to talk about other words to replace the work SAID. Students have a helpful sheet, "Said is dead," to make their writing more interesting.

Math: Last week, we had a Place Value quiz and students have received their marks. Please sign and return the quizzes if you have not already done so. We are now working on Addition and Subtraction of whole numbers. This week we will continue practising how to carry over with addition and how to borrow with subtraction. We will also be solving word problems and rounding of whole numbers as well.

Science: Grade 5s are continuing the Human Organ System. They are currently studying circulation. Grade 6s are continuing Biodiversity and working on their research project on the animal kingdom.

**This week is spirit week. Every day will be a different theme. On Friday, we will be watching a Halloween themed movie. Feel free to send your child with an extra treat on Friday. However, at this time, there will be no sharing among classmates.**
